On Tuesday evening, Jumaa absconded from North Manchester Hospital where he was due to receive medical treatment. Police were then made aware and have been continuing to trace his whereabouts.

He was last seen in the Radcliffe area and anyone who sees him must not approach him but call 999.

He had been serving an indefinite sentence in a secure hospital facility, after previously being convicted of two robberies, which saw two women and police officers receive serious injuries.

Jumaa is a substantial risk to the public, and following extensive initial enquiries, we are now have further information to share of his last known movements.

Members of the public are asked to call 999 immediately if they have believe they have sighted Jumaa, and should not approach him. He may require medical assistance.

He has links to the Bury, Prestwich, and Crumpsall areas of Greater Manchester, in addition to areas across the country – in particular London and West Yorkshire.
He was last sighted in the Radcliffe area on Tuesday evening.

Detective Superintendent Amber Waywell, from Greater Manchester Police, said: “We are undertaking extensive work in our search for Jumaa, utilising all necessary resources and officers in order to return him to lawful custody.

“We have no information to suggest any intention to inflict imminent harm, but ultimately, he is a wanted and dangerous individual.

“I fully understand that this is concerning news, but I want the public to know that we are working around-the-clock to find him. We have officers dedicated to the search and anyone with any issues should contact their local team.

“Of course, if you believe you have seen Jumaa, or have any information, you should call 999 immediately. No matter how small you think the information is, it could greatly assist with our investigation.”
