Manchester’s popular dining and leisure destination, Great Northern Warehouse, has announced the return of their annual, Deansgate Mews Festival.

Located on Deansgate Mews, a hidden pedestrianised street accessible from Deansgate, the three-day festival will take place over the bank holiday weekend on Friday 26th – Sunday 28th May.

The free to attend Deansgate Mews Festival will represent the best of Manchester culture, and promises a lively celebration of food, entertainment, stalls from a variety of independent local retailers, and family-friendly activities.

Across the weekend, guests can expect a variety of live music acts at local neighbourhood bar, Lions Den, with a pop-up outdoor stage, hosting 30+ local acts. This year’s line-up includes headline performances from Mancunian 4-piece indie rock band, Strawberry Lemonade, North London-based band, The Social Club, and Mansfield-based indie rock band, The Publics.

An additional indoor and outdoor stage at Low Four, will feature a further fifteen acts over the weekend, alongside an additional indoor stage at Manchester One Media. The line-up will feature performances by William KZ supported by Bright Light Rooney, Dan Disgrace, Nikki & The Waves, Jackie Moonbather, NOISETTE, Terry Venomous, Hank Stankovic, and more!

Guests can also enjoy al fresco dining from five bars and restaurants situated on Deansgate Mews, including The Mews Bar, Another Hand, and Acai & The Tribe – the perfect location to (fingers crossed) enjoy an afternoon of fun and sun on the large sunshine terrace.

At The Mews Bar, guests can enjoy meat and cheese sharing boards, a selection of small plates including spicy chorizo sausage wrapped in prosciutto and cooked in garlic and rosemary, and confit tomatoes with garlic served on toasted sourdough, plus summer wines. Next door, brunch spot Acai & The Tribe will be serving its famed nutritious smoothie bowls. Michelin-listed Another Hand will be offering hand-crafted summer cocktails alongside locally-sourced, flavour-focused plates.

Celebrating the very best of Manchester’s independent brands, Deansgate Mews Festival will also host a pop-up Gift Emporium, with spring-inspired arrangements from floristry specialist Bah Florals, artwork vendors The Lemur Arts and Helen Jones Art, embroidery artists Hoop and Fred, vintage clothing and accessories by NoWear To Go, stylish eyewear brand IOLLA and more.

All fees will be donated to community charity Forever Manchester – the only charity that raises money to fund and support community activity across Greater Manchester.

Speaking about this year’s event, Mark Schofield, Centre Director for Great Northern Warehouse, said: “Following on from the success of previous years, we are delighted to once again be hosting Deansgate Mews Festival!

“We hope to welcome locals to enjoy a free weekend of music and socialising, alongside the best of outdoor dining, drinks and shopping that Great Northern Warehouse has to offer. Deansgate Mews Festival will continue our culinary celebrations and provide a fun day out for the whole family this May Bank Holiday.

“We are still inviting local businesses to take a stall at the festival, so if you are an independent brand in Manchester and would like to showcase your products to festival goers across the three days, please do get in touch with emma.james@thegreatnorthern.com.”

The Great Northern is a retail, entertainment, and business destination located in Deansgate. The Grade 2 listed building incorporates 35 brands including a casino, a cinema, cocktail bars, restaurants, and bowling lanes to top interior designers and a yoga centre.
