Manchester based software development company, DCSL Software, has recently acquired GuideSmiths Ltd in a deal that has secured their status as the UK’s leading software development and digital transformation company with a combined turnover of £20m. 

The acquisition, worth £12.3m, is DCSL Software’s first as a private equity-backed business following a multi-million-pound investment from private equity fund Queen’s Park Equity (QPE) who are pleased to be supporting the groups investment and organic growth. 

The company delivered 40% revenue growth in 202 under the long-term leadership of CEO Nick Thompson and there is no plans to slow down with further ambitious plans for both strong organic and acquisitive growth which will be supported by Mike Newall, the managing director of GuideSmiths who will now become Commercial Director of the group. 

The merge of these two companies creates an organisation with an impressive international footprint and much broadened capabilities.

Services & Clients

Following the acquisition, the business’s offerings has expanded through an enhanced skillset gained from GuideSmiths. The company can now offer large scale digital transformation, team augmentation and the delivery of discrete Agile projects. Not only this but they can create world class bespoke software using complementary tech such as Microsoft, .NET, Power BI, React and Node.js. It doesn’t stop there, the company’s capabilities also extend to DevOps proficiency and the deployment on Azure and AWS.

The merged group holds an impressive brand portfolio including the likes of MailOnline, Bourne Leisure, Smith & Nephew and Pearson Education. 

Locations

The brand which will now be known as DCSL GuideSmiths, will operate across six locations in the UK and Europe with a team of more than 250. 

The company headquarters will remain in Farnborough, UK along withs its other two main offices in London and Manchester. However, operations will now branch out across Europe with offices in Bucharest, Budapest and Madrid.
