Danielle Mckinney  raised a magnificent £1,389 – beating her target – when she made her white collar boxing debut in Manchester’s Bowlers Exhibition Centre on Saturda to fundraise for two causes close to her heart – Ronald McDonald House Manchester and the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at Central Manchester University Hospital.

Danielle is delighted that she won the fight by a technical knock -out in the second round when the referee decided to stop the fight in her favour.

Danielle and her partner, Stephen, were blessed to be pregnant with twin girls but at just 24 weeks their world was torn apart. At just 500g Lillie was too tiny to survive. Nancie at 650g did survive but had a very long, hard journey ahead of her. After four long months of ups and downs she finally made it home and is now, aged two, a very happy, clever little girl.

Thankfully, while Nancie was fighting for her life, she was given a place to stay at Ronald McDonald House Manchester, one of 14 Houses across the UK which provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation to families with children in hospital. www.rmhc.org.uk
