Regional carrier Flybe has ceased trading and all scheduled flights have been cancelled

People are being urged not to go to airports after all of its flights were cancelled this morning.276 workers have been made redundant.

David Pike & Mike Pink were appointed Joint Administrators of Flybe Limited.

A spokesperson for the administrators said about 75,000 Flybe customers had future bookings that would now not be honoured.

It is less than a year after the low-cost airline started flying again

Headquartered in Birmingham, Flybe operated flights on 21 routes to 17 destinations across the UK and European Union using a fleet of eight leased Q400 turboprop aircraft.

Train firm LNER is offering “all Flybe customers who have had their flights cancelled “free journeys on any LNER service to their destination on 28 and 29 January”.

Travellers will need to present evidence of a Flybe booking for either day.
