The Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy has said that the use of “dynamic pricing” will be reviewed under the upcoming consultation on consumer protections

Her comments follow the weekend sake of Oasis tickets

Nandy said it was “depressing to see vastly inflated prices.”

“This government is committed to putting fans back at the heart of music.”

Nandy said that so called surge pricing would be included in a government review of the secondary gig sales market.

Dynamic pricing for Oasis tickets saw prices rise from £148 to £355.

She added that such issues, as well as the “technology around queuing systems which incentivise it”, would be looked into in an upcoming government consultation.

“After the incredible news of Oasis’s return, it’s depressing to see vastly inflated prices excluding ordinary fans from having a chance of enjoying their favourite band live.”
