Counter-terror police are now leading the investigation after “new information and evidence came to light”

Police have said that the 28 year old arrested in Rotherham has been re-arrested on suspicion of commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.

The Home Secretary has said the police are pursuing multiple lines of enquiry to establish the motivation for this attack and will be updating the House of Commons further this afternoon.

The 78-year old former Tory minister, who defected to the Brexit Party in 2019 before later joining Reform, was found dead at her bungalow in Haytor, Devon, on Thursday morning after sustaining serious injuries.
