The LGBT Foundation, Manchester Pride and George House Trust have met with council representatives at the Town Hall       in an effort to solve the row over funding cuts by Manchester Pride to two local charities

Pride has come under pressure after it was revealed that its chief executive was given a pay rise of £20,000 while funding was cut.More than 20,000 people have signed a petition calling on Mark Fletcher, its Chief Executive to resign over the controversy.

Following the meeting, Manchester Pride has agreed to conduct a transparent review during the autumn taking views from a wide-reaching range of stakeholders and the community about the future direction of the Festival. The result will be published along with an action plan.

The City Council will convene a meeting between Manchester Pride, LGBT Foundation, George House Trust and the Village Licensed Business Association after the festival, to explore how Manchester Pride can continue to support the work of the other two charities on an ongoing basis
