Trafford Council has launched a consultation on ambitious plans for 86 new homes on the site of the former Sale Magistrates Court.

Housing developer Seddon Development Ltd want to build 48 townhouses and 38 apartments on the one-hectare site just off Ashton Road in Sale.

Seddon was selected from a list of developers following a procurement process and has proposed a residential scheme with a mix of homes, including some affordable housing – a ‘priority’ for the council. The site, which sits on a key route in the borough, was bought by the council from Homes England with a view to redevelop the site for housing close to the town centre.

Cllr James Wright, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Housing and Regeneration, said:

“This is a flagship scheme in the centre of the town and meets the council’s policy and commitment of building more housing on brownfield sites, including affordable homes.

But, as always, we want all of our residents to give their views on any proposed scheme. Please take part in our virtual consultation, we want as many views as possible on this development to make sure that everyone is happy with the final scheme. Thank you.”

To give your views on the proposal please go to the consultation website. We have uploaded the consultation boards which provide more information about the site, design development, current proposals and key considerations. Physical copies of the consultation boards will also be available to view in the windows of Sale Library, 2 Tatton Road, M33 7EB between 6 – 20 November 2020.
