778 people have died across the UK after contracting coronavirus in the past 24 hours according to the Department of Health.

It takes the total as of 5pm on 13 April, of those hospitalised in the UK who tested positive for coronavirus, 12,107 have died.

382,650 tests have concluded, with 14,982 tests on 13 April. 302,599 people have been tested of which 93,873 tested positive.

Meanwhile at this afternoon’s Daily Press Conference the Chancellor Rishi Sunak responding to this report from the Office of Budget Responsibility said that UK will be able to recover ‘quickly and strongly’ once crisis is over

He added that taking action to save lives now is also the right thing to do for the economy and the OBR forecast is saying that the Government’s plan was the right plan.
