There were emotional scenes at the Etihad as Manchester City said goodbye to their six time Premier League winner Kevin De Bruyne

The player and his family walked out to a guard of honour while an emotional  De Bruyne watched on as a tribute video featuring some familiar faces was played in his honour

A huge King Kev banner did the rounds across the stadium while the club confirmed they will honour his incredible decade of service to the Club by commissioning a special statue celebrating the midfielder’s magnificent Etihad career

“After 10 years, it was about time that somebody let me talk a bit…”.“It’s time to say goodbye, I’ll be back, but we love you, and see you soon!”. said the player while an emotional Pep Guardiola was seen shedding a tear

“50,000 people just waiting for you to say goodbye, it’s indescribable and thank you very much.” De Bruyne added

The 33-year-old played the opening 70 minutes of his side’s 3-1 Premier League victory over Bournemouth

I’m so happy because everyone felt the connection he has and will have forever with our fans. All the legends that talk, you remember how nice they have been these 10 years. Lifting the trophies is fine, and the contracts, but there is something you cannot buy. He got a lot of love from people who love this club.” said Pep Guardiola after the game
