Nine families in the North West have been provided with free new furniture thanks toSofology and its charity partner Home-Start UK.
The recently-launched charity partnership has seen Sofology pledge fundraising, volunteering and promotion of Home-Start UK across its 55 stores, and recently along with its supplier, it has donated furniture sets to 56 families in need across the UK,nine of whom are based in the North West.
Home-Start is a local community network of trained volunteers and expert support helping families with young children through their challenging times.
Families struggling with post-natal depression, isolation, physical health problems, bereavement and many other issues receive the support of a volunteer who will spend around two hours a week in a family’s home supporting them in the ways they need.
In the current cost of living crisis Home Start High Peak has been supporting families who are struggling to afford basic essentials and those who are starting out in new homes.
Sofology has helped in these efforts by providing sofas and other pieces of furniture for families building their lives back up in new homes, while Sofology has also used its network of delivery vehicles to ensure the furniture reaches those who need it in a timely manner.

So far, as part of the partnership, the in-store Pennies scheme has raised more than £15,000 for Home-Start UK, while volunteering initiatives have also seen Home-Start headquarters in Manchester given a makeover.
