The latest polling has suggested that this week’s Greater Manchester Mayoral Election will see Andy Burnham winning by a large margin securing a third term in the top job

Second place though is surprising close with the Conservatives currently trailing Reform UK by 9% to Reform’s 12%.

Burnham looks set to cruise to a third term with around two-thirds of the vote according to polling done by More in Common

Strikingly those who voted Conservative in 2019 are more likely to back Andy Burnham than the Conservative Candidate Laura Evans. A third say they intend to back incumbent Burnham compared to just 27% who would vote for Evans.

The 2019 Conservative vote in Greater Manchester is extremely fragmented, with a three-way split between Burnham, Evans and the Reform candidate Dan Barker picking up 22% of this group. A further 12% of 2019 Conservatives would vote for Nick Buckley, who ran for Reform in 2021 and is now an independent candidate.

Dan Barker was the original Tory Candidate but moved his allegiance to the Reform Party days before nominations closed with the party forced to bring in their candidate in 2021 Laura Evans

She is predicted to finish fourth behind Barker and Buckley. The Lib Dems and the Greens are each polling
