The Manchester branch of Byron Burgers is one of nine in the chain that are set to close after restructuring in the group that will see over 200 jon losses

Owner Famously Proper, which also owns fried chicken brand Mother Clucker, blamed lower consumer spending and rising costs for the decision.

However a deal has been done with the administrator to save another twelve restaurants and 365 jobs

Claire Winder, managing director at Interpath Advisory who acted as a joint administrator on the deal, said: “Like many other companies across the hospitality sector, Byron had seen a boost in trading following the end of the Covid lockdown measures.

She added:

””sky-high” inflation, which measures how costs change over time, had seen customers reduce their spending, and pressure increased on the business in turn.”
