British Airways has cancelled ALL flights to and from Abu Dhabi citing “airspace instability in the Middle East”
Flights to Amman, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai and Tel Aviv are also suspended until later this month
Due to the continuing uncertainty of the situation in the Middle East and airspace instability, we’ve had to temporarily reduce our flying schedule in the region,” the airline said in a statement posted to its website.
All flights to and from Amman, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai and Tel Aviv have been cancelled until later this month, the airline said.
“We’re keeping the situation under constant review and are in touch with our customers to offer them a range of options.”
Over 21,000 flights have been cancelled across seven Gulf airports since 28 February. Dubai International, the world’s busiest hub for international passengers, is operating at 85% below normal capacity. Abu Dhabi is down over 50%. Etihad and Emirates are running limited repatriation and cargo flights only. Full scheduled services are suspended until further notice.
