42 new homes from MSV Housing in Broughton will provide much-needed, high quality housing in Salford to support people who have previously experienced homelessness or rough sleeping.

The Six-storey development located on the banks of the River Irwell off St Simon Street received £8.82 million in funding from the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and Homes England.

The secure accommodation of 1-bedroom apartments will be built by Legacie and have all been designed with modern, open-plan living spaces. Plans for the ground floor involve utilising the space to support people with work and employment initiatives, both for the residents and wider community.

Paul Dennett, Salford City Mayor, said:

“Here in Salford, we’re committed to ensuring everyone has a decent, safe, accessible and affordable place to call home, which should be available to everyone. That is why our plans to increase the supply of quality, energy efficient and genuinely affordable housing in our communities is a vital part of the city’s efforts to turn the situation around, particularly for those who are living in temporary accommodation, homeless or at risk of homelessness.”
