After an epic Cardiff weekend, it’s straight back to business for the Belle Vue Aces as they make their way to the Black Country on Monday, July 23 looking for an encore against Wolverhampton.

Their last visit to Monmore Green ended in shock for the Parrys International Wolves when, after leading for much of the night, the Rentruck Aces pounced in the final heat to take the victory.

And with Steve Worrall, a man quite familiar with the Monmore set-up from his Cradley days, now back in action for his parent club, there is even greater anticipation for the two teams to lock horns.

The Rentruck Aces are chomping even more fervently at the bit after their home meeting against Somerset was postponed, with reserve Jye Etheridge confident they can repeat their success.

He said: “It was a close one the last time we went to Wolverhampton. A few of us struggled because it was our first time there, so this time we’ll have the benefit of experience on our side.

“Having Steve back in the team is a huge plus for us. I raced against him at Berwick last weekend and he was looking fast and confident, and he knows his way around the Monmore Green track.

“As a team, we’re much stronger for this meeting so I don’t see why we can’t come away with some points, if not a win, and I think that if we’re all firing together, we’re capable of doing so.”

The Rentruck Aces welcome the Parrys International Wolves back to the National Speedway Stadium this Wednesday, July 25 for the return fixture against their Black Country rivals.

The club then celebrates their official 90th birthday on July 28 with their highly-anticipated Summer of Speed Saturday, featuring Round 5 of the British Youth Championship as the main event.
