Cricket legend Shane Warne has died at the age of 52.

His management confirmed the news in a statement, which read: “It is with great sadness we advise that Shane Keith Warne passed away of a suspected heart attack in Koh Samui, Thailand today, Friday 4th March.

“Shane was found unresponsive in his Villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived.

“The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”

Warne will be remembered as one of the greatest cricketers of all time,taking 708 test wickets before his retirement in 2007

Having made his Test debut at the SCG in 1992, Warne rose to become a key figure across all formats in one of the greatest sustained periods of dominance by any team in world cricket.

He was a member of Australia’s World Cup win in 1999, and five Ashes-winning sides beween 1993 and 2003.
