WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has boarded a jet at London’s Stansted Airport after being freed from prison.

Assange spent 1901 days at the Belmarsh maximum security prison.

Immediately after being released from prison, Assange departed the UK.

“He was granted bail by the High Court in London and was released at Stanstead airport during the afternoon, where he boarded a plane and departed the UK,” WikiLeaks posted on X.

Assange was heading for Australia where he will join his wife and two children who had flown on ahead

Assange told the world of 10’s of thousands of Iraqis tortured and released footage of a US apache helicopter mowing down civilians when he made available ten of thousands of documents but many people believe that his acts compromised security

Assange as part of the deal will appear at a courtroom on the Pacific island of Saipan where he is expected to plead guilty on Wednesday to a single criminal charge in a plea deal that will see him walk free and return home to Australia
