A nineteen year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a firearms offence after reports that shots were fired in Openshaw on Saturday night.
Police were called to reports of a disturbance on Bob Massey Close just after 7.00pm after reports that a fight was taking place and that gun shots had been heard.
The man remains in custody for questioning.
Detective Inspector Claire McGuire of GMP’s City of Manchester Team said: “We are just over 24 hours past this incident taking place and our investigation is moving at a significant pace, with numerous enquiries being carried out.
“We currently have a man in custody however our investigation continues and I want to continue to appeal to anyone with information to please come forward.
“We will continue to have an increased police presence in the area so if you have any concerns then please approach one of officers on patrol.”
