King Charles has stripped Andrew of his prince title and will force him to leave his home at Royal Lodge
In a statement released at 7pm on October 30 2025, Buckingham Palace said ”His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew.”
It continued ”Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.”
Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease of Royal Lodge, and he will move to alternative private accommodation believed to be on the Sandringham estate which will be paid for by the king from his private funds
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer “fully supports” Buckingham Palace’s decision to strip Andrew of his titles, Downing Street says
Starmer said in a statement that our hearts go out” to Virginia Giuffre’s family, and his “utmost sympathies… remain with the victims and survivors” of abuse
Beyond a personal punishment, the move marks a symbolic moment: the monarchy is severing royal birthright from moral immunity.
For the first time in modern history, a senior royal has been publicly and legally dethroned in name and status, ending “Prince Andrew” for good.
