After a brilliant launch to their coverage of domestic speedway last week in Manchester, BT Sport has another cracker in store on Monday, June 26, when Belle Vue head south to face Poole.

The two sides have already clashed multiple times this season; once in a Premiership draw at the National Speedway Stadium, and twice in the KOC when Belle Vue sent the Pirates packing.

But on the Rentruck Aces’ last visit to Wimborne Road it was the home team who took the spoils, though just barely due to an engine failure suffered by Kenneth Bjerre in the final heat of the night.

This time however they are determined to see the job through and given their recent success away from home they journey to Dorset high on confidence, intent on bagging maximum points.

With the new averages comes a new riding order for the Mancunians with, Kenneth Bjerre taking over as Belle Vue’s new No.1 which sees Max Fricke switch to No.3; partnering Rohan Tungate.

Club asset Fricke says it’s well within the power of his side to triumph over the Volvo Cars Pirates on their home turf, and recalls the many close calls they have had on the south coast.

“We’ve had some great matches against Poole over the years. We missed out on the Premiership title to them two years ago and we’ve had some close calls with them this season,” said Fricke

“The fact that we’re on TV won’t change our approach or our attitude to what we’re going there to do. We’re at the top of the table right now and it’d be nice to keep it that way a bit longer.

“As with our team, they’ve had a slight reshuffle since we last met. Grzegorz Zengota and Paul Starke are two capable riders and two very good signings, and we now have Rohan with us.

“I’m confident it’ll be a well-fought meeting. Poole obviously want to win at home on TV and we want to make sure we finish the job this time, so I think we can expect a tough night on Monday.”

Belle Vue round off their June fixtures at home with a visit from the King’s Lynn Stars this Wednesday, June 28. Tickets are available online now at www.bellevueaces.co.
