Last week saw 28 members of staff from accountants and business advisers BDO LLP perform Jingle Bell Rock in the Halle Christmas Cracker Concert at the Bridgewater Hall.

This followed the firm’s win at the corporate Christmas choir competition earlier this month. With people from across tax, corporate finance, forensic and more, this was the first time these colleagues had come together to form a choir.

Angela Cross, partner at BDO said: “This wasn’t something we had ever thought of doing before but when the opportunity arose, we thought it would be something different.

“We’re always looking for opportunities and initiatives to bring the team together and improve our sense of wellbeing at work. The competition gave us something to work towards, but the real benefit here was for people in different teams to take an hour out of their day to practice singing along with our choir master from the Halle, Matthew Roughley.

“The fact the competition culminated with a performance at the Bridgewater Hall was the icing on the cake. What a fantastic – if somewhat nerve-wracking – experience for our team to share.”

To win the coveted place to sing at the Halle Christmas Cracker Concert, BDO’s choir fought off competition from eight other businesses
