Police were met with an avalanche of cannabis and money, which is believed to have come from proceeds of crime following early morning raids in Eccles

Two properties Liverpool Road and Hallsworth Road were raided Manchester slept, with officers seizing approximately £40,000 in cash, over a kilo of cannabis and a luxury vehicle.

A man in his 40s and a woman in her 30s were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences and money laundering, and both remain in custody for questioning.

Detective Inspector Rebecca McGuigan from our Challenger Organised Crime Unit said: “Drugs cause an untold amount of harm in our community and to get over one kilogram of Class B off the streets is a really positive result for us.

“The removal of this substantial quantity of drugs is a massive stride in our efforts to disrupt the activities of organised criminals profiting from drug sales.

“We rely on information provided by the public, and I encourage anyone with concerns or information about drug-related activities in their area to come forward and speak with the police directly or contact Crimestoppers anonymously.
