The cyclist remains in hospital with serious injuries not believed to be life-threatening after what being hit by a car in Wythenshawe after what police believe was an altercation

Police say the man on a pedal bike was hit by a car on the junction of Brownley Road and Hollyhedge Road in Wythenshawe. The vehicle, which had veered across traffic made off.

It is believed that shortly before the incident, there was an altercation between the man, and two vehicles believed to be a White Seat Arona and dark-coloured VW Golf.

Detective Inspector John Robb, from GMP’s Manchester district, said: “This is an awful incident which has seen a man seriously injured – thankfully the injuries are not life-threatening, but things could very easily have been much worse.

“We are currently looking into all lines of enquiry and extensive work is ongoing to ensure that we find those responsible for this act. I urge anyone who witnessed any of last night’s events or saw anything suspicious to please get in touch.
