Police have now confirmed that there was no fire at Blackpool Tower and the flames seen from the ground were in fact orange orange netting flapping in the wind.
Dramatic footage appeared to show flames emerging from a metal section close to the top of the tower
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said that they have 6 fire engines, the drone team and the rope rescue team currently in attendance at a fire on Promenade, Blackpool.
Police say that one person was arrested at the scene for breach of the peace
