An Oldham man has been jailed after being found guilty of three counts of sexual activity with a child and supplying cannabis to a 15-year-old girl.

Twenty year old Faisal Khan of the Chadderton area of Oldham, was sentenced to four years 10 months will also be on the sex offenders register for life and was handed an indefinite restraining order against the victim as well as a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO).

Khan, 19-years-old at the time of the offences, had met and groomed the teenage girl, who was 14, over Snapchat between January and October 2022.

He would pick the youngster up in different vehicles and engage in sexual activity.

He would then provide her with cannabis, alcohol and sometimes nitrous oxide balloons.

The victim described not knowing whether he was her boyfriend or not but that the relationship had turned from something “cute” to “sour”.

DC Natalie Wood from the Oldham Complex Safeguarding Team said: “As Khan begins his sentence, I would like to thank the victim, who has been supportive of this prosecution. She has been very brave and shown such strength for someone so young.

“Today’s sentencing doesn’t make up for what she has been through but I hope that it goes someway to help her healing process.

“We are pleased that Khan is now off the streets and cannot hurt anyone else. As a Force, we are committed to listening to everyone who reports a sexual assault case and ensure that all are investigated.
