City-centre apartment brand Affinity Living is launching Spinningfields’ biggest art event, Art with Affinity, in collaboration with art event specialists Cotton On MCR. The art fair will take place on Sunday 18th June from 12pm-4:30pm, and is taking over the whole Affinity Living neighbourhood with portrait artists, interactive creations, and a sprawling specialist art fair at Riverside, Riverview, and Embankment West (home to the Laurence Place and Exchange Point towers).
Art With Affinity is a completely FREE public event where everyone (including four-legged friends) is welcome to celebrate Manchester’s fabulous art scene in all its glory. There will be over twenty five independent and local artists selling a huge range of artisanal and small batch artwork, prints and paintings, ceramics, jewellery, textiles and more.
In addition to the art fair, Art With Affinity will feature a whole range of creative activities. There will be a Live Interactive Artist creating a masterpiece on site at Riverside. Attendees will be invited to add to the unique designs created over the space of three 45 minute sets. Three of the nine pieces created during this art extravaganza will then be given away as part of a competition on Affinity Living’s social media channels.
A talented portrait artist will be in attendance at Embankment West, creating five minute portrait sketches of attendees for them to keep and take home with them.
A time-pressured, fun “One Minute Brief” workshop will also be taking place at Riverview on the day. Guests will be given some quick and whacky guidelines, before being given one minute to think of an idea and draw it on paper. Guests are welcome to simply pop over to Riverview if they’d like to take part, there’s no need to book.
On site coffee shops Loaf MCR and Embankment Cafe will be joining in the fun serving their beautiful cakes and artisan coffee throughout the day. Loaf MCR sells a variety of gorgeous, hand-crafted retro loaf cakes that pay homage to a variety of old school biscuits such as Custard Creams, Pink Panthers, and Jammie Dodgers.
Embankment Cafe is the ultimate hangout-destination thanks to their extensive day and night menu. Choose from an espresso, turmeric latte, smoothie, or for those fancying a pick-me-up, there’s also espresso and matcha martinis on offer.
With over 1300 people currently living within the Affinity Living neighbourhood, residents become part of a vibrant community from all walks of life, where they’ll always feel right at home.
