Roisin Murphy homobloc t-shirt

On Saturday 5th November, the legendary block party for all, Homobloc, returns to its magical home of Depot Mayfield.

As in previous years, Homobloc is proud to support its amazing charity partners and the work that they do to make the world a better place for the community. As part of its ongoing support, Homobloc has launched a new line of merchandise ahead of the 2022 festival. The new merchandise features T-shirt designs from headliners Róisín Murphy and Honey Dijon, plus Homobloc’s local partner Feel Good Club.

All proceeds from the T-shirt range will be evenly split between Homobloc’s charity partners: The LGBT Foundation, The Proud Trust, George House Trust and Greater Manchester LGBTQ+ Community Fund.

Commenting on the T-shirt collection, Honey Dijon said: “The inspiration for this t-shirt designed with long-time collaborator AVAF is ‘Own your own narrative’”.

Furthermore, in 2021, Homobloc partnered with multidisciplinary artist Corbin Shaw, who created a series of works exploring the performance of masculinity in heteronormative spaces dominated by men.

Shaw’s work was featured throughout last year’s event; his trademark visuals of messages of love, mounted onto flags flying through the air and paraded on stage by performers in a powerful moment of unity.

The Corbin Shaw flags and photography from previous Homobloc events are now being exhibited at Manchester’s Feel Good Cafe with The Corbin Shaw “Dance Culture” flag set to be auctioned off in support of Homobloc’s four charity partners, who each make a vital contribution to the LGBTQ+ community.

  • LGBT Foundation– a national charity delivering advice, support and information services to lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) communities.
  • The Proud Trust– an LGBT+ organisation that supports LGBT+ young people through youth groups, peer support, mentoring programs and the Proud Connections chat service.
  • George House Trust– an organisation inspiring people living with HIV to live healthy, confident lives by providing HIV support, advice and advocacy services.
  • Greater Manchester LGBTQ+ Community Fund– an organisation distributing small grants to LGBTQ+ and HIV grassroots good causes.

The new Homobloc T-shirt collection comes in a range of styles and colours and is now available to purchase online via the Homoelectric T-Shirt Shop.
