An 89-year-old man, suffered potentially life-threatening injuries after being hit by a van this morning at Great Underbank in Stockport

The incident happened around 10:07am when a Mercedes Sprinter Van was exiting a car park and the pedestrian was crossing the exit point.

The pedestrian, a 89-year-old man, suffered potentially life-threatening injuries and has been taken to hospital for treatment.

The driver stayed at the scene and assisted officers with their enquiries.

As part of this investigation, GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are asking for anyone with information to please come forward.

This includes anyone who witnessed the incident, or has CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area.
