A 76 year old Oldham man will be tried  in the New Year charged with historic child sex offences

Mumtaz Khan is alleged to have committed 13 offences against three victims – then aged as young as 13 – between 2000 and 2007.

He was charged in February 2025 by detectives in the local unit dedicated to protecting young and vulnerable people in the town.

He has since appeared at Manchester Magistrates’ Court and Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, where he was given court bail ahead of his trial on 5 January 2026.
