A 74-year-old man has died after the car he was driving crossed into the opposing lane and collided with another vehicle and then collided with a building in Marple yesterday morning
The accident happened around 11.15 on Stockport Road, the man driving a BMW was pronounced dead at the scene
Enquiries are ongoing by officers to establish the full circumstances and are keen to speak to any further witnesses, especially those who have CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage in the moments leading up to the incident.
Detective Constable Giblin from the Serious Collison Investigation Unit said: “First and foremost our thoughts are with the loved ones who have lost a family member and friend in tragic circumstances. They are being supported by specialist officers at this time.
Whilst we continue to investigate, we need to ensure we retrieve all the best possible evidence available to us and would urge anyone who has further information that could help us to contact us direct as soon as possible.”
