A forty four year old man is in a serious condition after a hit and run in Cheadle late last night

The incident happened around 11:40pm, the man was hit by what is believed to be a dark coloured hatchback or estate car, at the junction of Councillor Lane and Minister Close.

The man, who sustained serious injuries, was left injured on the ground as the car fled the scene.

A white pick-up truck was seen travelling in company with the car and believe it may have been involved in the collision.

Detective Constable Becky Smith of GMP’s Stockport Borough, said: “We need the help of residents to assist in finding the person who left the man injured.

“This was a shocking so if anyone was in the area at the time then we ask you to come forward and give us information, as it could help our investigation.”
