A 38-year-old man has been taken to hospital where he is currently in a stable condition after a shooting in Hyde last night.
Detectives are investigating the circumstances around what happened, officers remain at the scene a Marler Road in Hyde and enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Kahar from GMP’s Tameside District, said: “This is understandably an extremely distressing incident for the community, and there will be additional police patrols in the area.
“Officers are working hard to establish exactly what has happened, and will continue to carry out enquiries in the community.”
