A man has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder of Thomas Campbell in Mossley earlier this month.

Thomas Campbell, 38, was found dead at an address on Riverside last Sunday

Despite the best efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene and a murder investigation was launched.

Stephen Cleworth aged 37, of Charles Street, Heywood, has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder. He appeared at Manchester Magistrates today and has been remanded until his next appearance on 15 August at Manchester Crown Court.

A 31-year-old who was arrested on suspicion of murder on 7 July has been released without charge.
