A 35-year-old man has been arrested after four firearms and a quantity of suspected Class A drugs were recovered from an address in Chorlton

The firearms included four handguns, three of which are semi-automatic, one revolver and a large number of bullets while drugs including suspected heroin and crack cocaine were also recovered.

Detective Inspector Chris Woodburn of GMP’s City of Manchester Challenger and District Intelligence Unit said: “Firearms have no place on our streets and our team takes responding to this type of crime very seriously.

“These four firearms have now been taken out of circulation, preventing them from potentially being used to cause serious harm in our communities.

“We will remain relentless in our pursuit of people who are involved in this type of crime.

“In order for us to act, we need you and your communities to let us know of any concerns you have, and we urge you to please get in touch with us if you believe crime is taking place in your area.”
