A 33 year old man will appear in court on Xmas Eve after a 39 year old man was assaulted in Cheadle

The incident happened on Carrs Road, the victim was taken to hospital and his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Rafael MacArron of Ward Street, Heaviley in Stockport has been charged with Grievous Bodily Harm with Intent.

MacArron has since been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court on Saturday 24 December 2022.

Detective Inspector Gareth Beasley of GMP’s Stockport district said: “Firstly, I would like to reassure the public that this was an isolated incident and does not pose a threat to the wider community in Cheadle.

“Thankfully, the injuries the victim sustained were not life threatening. No weapons were used or seized from the scene, or the two men involved.

“I would like to personally thank the officers who attended this incident and worked to secure the charge of this dangerous individual. Without their efforts this would not have been possible and it is a clear demonstration that we take violent crime seriously.

“Any level of violence will simply NOT be tolerated by GMP in our community.
“This incident will have understandably caused concern to members of the community, and I would like to once again reassure local residents that we are determined to take positive action against violent crime.

“We regularly work with partners across Stockport to ensure the safety of our community and also have extra officer patrols in place in the area provide that extra reassurance since this incident.
