A 30 year old man remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital after a shooting in Cheetham Hill last night

The man presented to hospital with a serious gunshot wound to his leg, the shooting took place on Dinnington Drive and a scene is in place in the area.

No arrests have been made

Detective Inspector Paddy Connell, of GMP City of Manchester North’s Central Park CID, said: “Enquiries are still at a relatively early stage in this investigation but we do believe we know where the victim has suffered his injuries and a scene is in place to collate any evidence that can aid our pursuit of finding who is responsible for this.

“It is believed to be a targeted incident but we are not certain what dispute this relates to at this time, however I must stress to the local community that when disturbances like this occur we take it very seriously and do our utmost to prevent any further incidents.

“If you live in the area and heard anything last night then I urge you to contact us as we continue to piece together the details of this shooting, and any information could really help at this stage.”
