Police are appealing for witnesses after a 22 year old man was killed in a hit and run collision in the early hours of this morning in Hazel Grove.
The incident happened around  4.10am on Bramhall Moor Lane in Hazel Grove, Stockport.

Police and the ambulance service attended and found that a car had collided with a 22-year-old man. The driver of the car had then failed to stop.

The injured man was taken to hospital where he sadly died.

Officers investigating the collision identified the vehicle a black Audi A5, shortly after the collision and the driver, a 29-year-old man and the passenger, and 27-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. The man was also arrested on suspicion of driving whilst under the influence of alcohol. They are both currently in custody.

Sergeant Paul Higgins, from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This is an absolute tragedy. I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the man’s family. I can’t imagine what they must be going through.

“We have made two arrests however our investigation is still in it’s early stages. I am appealing for anyone who may have seen the incident, or may have dash-cam footage to get in touch.”
