A 21 year old woman has been left with life changing injuries after being hit by a tram as she was crossing the tracks at St Werburgh’s Road
The tram travelling from Rochdale to East Didsbury. As it approached the St Werburgh’s tram stop – which is completely segregated from the road – the woman attempted to cross the tramway from the south towards Sidbury Road and was hit by the tram, which was travelling at around 20mph.
Emergency services attended the scene and she was taken to hospital. Specialist officers have been deployed to support her and her family at this difficult time.
