A 21-year-old man is in hospital where he remains in a critical condition after being hit by a car in Openshaw in the early hours of this morning.
An 18-year-old man has been arrested at the scene on Ashton Old Road on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and driving under the influence of drugs. He remains in custody for questioning.
Sergeant Matthew Waggett from GMP’s Serious Collisions Investigation Unit said: “This incident has left a man critically injured, and we’ve launched a full investigation into what happened. We may have made an arrest, but our enquires are very much on-going.
