A Bury man has been charged with a number of offences as part of an ongoing investigation led by Counter Terrorism Policing North West.
Muhammad Zakir Arif aged 18 of Harrington Close, Bury has been charged with one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and of strangulation or suffocation
He has also been charged with two counts of possession of a bladed article in a public place, and two counts of breaching a Section 49 RIPA Court Order.
He has been remanded to appear before Westminster Magistrates Court today
