Two boys, both aged 16, have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Both have been bailed pending further enquiries.

A sixteen year old boy is in a serious but stable condition after he was was stabbed in Cheetham on Friday afternoon .Thr boy was walking with friends on Oakfield Street when he was approached by a group wearing balaclavas.
The group attacked the boy and stabbed him a number of times before fleeing the scene.

The boy was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.Nobody else was injured during the incident.

Detective Inspector Rob Howarth, of GMP’s City of Manchester team said: “This has been a fast moving investigation and over the weekend we arrested two 16-year-old boys in connection with this incident.

“Both have now been bailed, however our investigation remains very much on-going and we are still appealing for anybody with information to come forward.

“If you believe you can help us, no matter how big or small you think your information may be, please come forward and contact police.”
