A brand new £12.7 million housing development in the heart of Cadishead is delivering 48 high-quality homes for social rent and shared ownership, helping to meet local housing needs and support community growth.

The Green Lane scheme, led by ForHousing in partnership with Breck Architects, is transforming the site into a mixed-tenure community of houses and apartments.

The homes have been made possible with grant funding from Homes England and from GM Brownfield, and are part of ForHousing’s wider commitment to providing safe, sustainable, and affordable homes.

Located in the village of Cadishead, an area with growing demand for affordable housing, the new homes will offer a mix of tenures to support a diverse range of residents.

Clare Tostevin, Executive Director of Investment and Growth at ForHousing, said:

“Starting the works at Green Lane brings an exciting opportunity for the community of Cadishead, and we are proud to be working with our partners to create multiple options of affordable, quality homes in the area.”

The development will deliver 48 homes in total, comprising a mix of houses and apartments. Of these, 36 will be for social rent, including 12 one-bedroom apartments, four one-bedroom maisonettes, 15 two-bedroom homes, and five three-bedroom homes.

The remaining 12 homes will be available through shared ownership, made up of two two-bedroom homes, eight three-bedroom homes, and two four-bedroom homes. All are scheduled for completion in Spring 2027.
