A ten year old girl has been hospitalised with life changing injuries after a collision in Oldham yesterday evening.

The girl was riding her scooter home from Princess Park around 6.00pm when she was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Astra.

Princess Road was closed for three hours whilst emergency services worked at the scene.Princess Park was also secured by officers to allow the air ambulance to land.

The girl suffered multiple injuries and was taken to hospital for surgery, where she remains in a serious but stable condition.The driver of the car was not injured and remained at the scene to speak with officers.No arrests have been made.

Police Constable Paul Hailwood of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are doing all we can to support the girl’s family at this very traumatic time and our thoughts remain with her as she receives treatment in hospital.

“Our investigation to establish the exact causes in the lead up to this collision remains ongoing.

“As the collision occurred in a residential area, we are appealing to anyone that could have witnessed this collision to come forward with information.”
