The Worsley and Eccles South MP Barbara Keeley has announced that she is standing from Parliament
Keeley who is the Shadow Minister for Tourism has been in the Commons since 2005 and in a personal statement released this afternoon,she that she had fought five elections and after having battled her way through surgery and radiotherapy for breast cancer felt they she could not go thru a six week campaign
She has served in her nineteen year career as a Government whip under Gordon Brown and as Shadow Minister for Mental Health and Social care
