Work starts on Monday (18 Sep) to build the new 3G all-weather pitch at Redbank Playing Fields in Radcliffe.

The £2.4 million facility includes a state-of-the-art floodlit pitch, changing pavilion with club room and grass pitch improvements.

Work on the new pavilion and club room (with car parking) will start next month on 16 October. The pitch itself is due to be completed in March 2024, and the pavilion in June 2024.

The project is being funded with £1.8m from the Football Foundation plus a further £600,000 from Bury Council.

Councillor Alan Quinn, cabinet member for the environment, climate change and operations, said: “This tremendous new facility will play an important role in the wider regeneration of Radcliffe, bringing opportunities for local people to participate in football and improve their health, physical activity and wellbeing.”

The new facility will be operated by Radcliffe Football Foundation, a partnership between Radcliffe Juniors and Radcliffe FC with representatives from other key clubs and community groups in Radcliffe.
