The pedestrian a woman in her 70s – sustained serious life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital for treatment after being hit by a car in Middleton yesterday

A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by driving without due care and attention and remains in custody.
The incident happened on Burton Road around midday.It is believed that a Toyota Prius collided with a pedestrian who was crossing the road.
GMP’S Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, mobile phone or doorbell footage, from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
