Dan Jones’ Each Tiny Drop and Philip Venables The Faggots and their Friends Between Revolutions have been nominated for Ivor Novello Awards as part of the Ivors Classical Awards. Both works were co-commissioned by Factory International and premiered at Manchester International Festival (MIF).
The Ivors Classical Awards celebrate the best new classical music and sound art by British, Irish and UK resident composers. The ceremony will take place on 12 November at BFI Southbank in London. BBC Radio 3 will broadcast the ceremony on 16 November in a special edition of the New Music Show and the episode will be on BBC Sounds. The Ivors Classical Awards are supported by PRS for Music.
Dan Jones’ Each Tiny Drop was first presented at Mayfield Park, Manchester as part of MIF23 – this work is nominated for the ‘Best Sound Art’ award.
Philip Venables’ The Faggots and their Friends Between Revolutions was performed by an ensemble cast at HOME theatre as part of MIF23 ahead of international performances in Germany, Amsterdam, Bregenz and Aix-en-Provence. This music theatre piece is nominated for the ‘Best Stage Work’ award.
