A 33-year-old man, has sustained serious injuries that are believed to be life threatening after being hit by a car in Longsight yesterday evening

Police say that the car was travelling at speed, on the wrong side of the road. At the junction of Dickenson Road with Anson Road, a pedestrian was crossing the road when the car collided with him.

The car failed to stop at the scene, but two men, age 19 and 21, were arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving a short while later on Adelphi Street, Salford.

GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, mobile phone or doorbell footage, from the area in the moments leading up to the collision
